Accommodation during Finncon

Floor accommodation

For low budget travellers, Eurocon offers between July 31 and August 3 a class room type accommodation near the city centre, main railway station and the university (con). The place has one large room for sleeping bags, a little kitchen, toilets, showers, a washing machine and a sauna.

Doors are open for a few hours per evening and for nights, and locked at the daytime. The price is 5€ per night, paid in place.

Registrations for the accommodation are taken in advance. You can also just register as a con attendee.

Instructions for floor accommodation

Reservations can be paid on Thursday and Friday at the accommodation premises, and on Saturday and Sunday at the Con.

You should make a one-time payment for the whole length of your stay. Every lodger will receive an accommodation pass, which indicates the nights paid for and which must be shown to the person on duty on every entry to the premises.

For the night between Saturday and Sunday, payment should be made by 3 pm on Saturday. After this you can inquire about spare places.

The accommodation premises have showers, toilets and a small kitchen; mattresses, linens or other accessories will not be provided.

The premises are closed during the day and cannot be accessed. Personal possessions can be left there on the owner's responsibility. The Con will not take responsibility for anything left on the premises at any time. On Sunday you can collect your belongings after the Con between 6 and 8 pm.

Wake-up is at 8 am, in order for everybody to have time to leave before the premises are closed at 10 am.

Directions from the main railway station

Cross the railroad on the pedestrian bridge. Cross the wide Köydenpunojankatu and continue slightly right to Juhannuskuja. From there turn right to Juhannuskatu. The premises are number 7.

Official con-hotel

Sokos Hotels are the official con-hotels. Make your reservation well in advance, and remember to mention "Finncon X" in order to obtain the cheaper price.

Other hotels

The Tall Ships' Race will be arranged in Turku on the same weekend as Finncon, so hotel rooms should be reserved well in advance. Several accommodation possibilities with contact information are listed below.
